Featured Prototype
LoRaWAN Campus Microclimate & Energy Telemetry Node
Ultra-low power sensor nodes sampling temperature, humidity, particulate matter (PM2.5), and AC grid voltage across CTBE campus buildings.
Engineering Architecture & Methodology
Designed to operate for 3+ years on a single LiFePO4 battery cell, this custom PCB integrates an STM32L0 microcontroller with a Semtech SX1262 LoRa transceiver.
Nodes transmit sensor telemetry every 15 minutes using an adaptive data rate (ADR) algorithm to a gateway installed atop the SECE rooftop antenna mast.
Engineering specifications:
- Sleep current draw of 4.2 µA.
- Active transmit power optimized between +14 dBm and +22 dBm.
- In-house AES-128 payload encryption alongside CRC-16 checksum verification.
